In the spirit of the opensource community I have decided to freely share my objects with anyone who is interested. I don't believe in all this "look but don't touch" copyright nonsense. I believe that freely sharing my creations and letting people use them in the creation of their own objects makes for a better Sims community. I have heard time and time again that the biggest reason The Sims has done so well is due to fan sites like this one because without new furniture to decorate your homes, the game would have lost most of it's appeal after the first week or so. Since Maxis is kind enough to share their objects with us (at least I'm assuming they are based on the invention of Transmogrifier), why shouldn't everyone else?

If you wish to recolor my objects for use on your own site, I have absolutely no problem with that. You don't have to ask my permission. You don't even have to link to me. All I ask is in the event that I have recolored an object from another artist, that you respect their wishes and contact them if you're interested in using their work since I obviously can't give away what doesn't belong to me. I have one more request. If you do use one of my original objects you must NOT place any restrictions on it - i.e. add a lame "you can only stare at it" readme. In kinder terms you cannot take what I give to you for free and forbid other people from using it as they wish.

Keep in mind that I'm not giving you permission to put my exact objects on your own site for people to download in an attempt to try to pass them off as your own creations. Most of all I'm not giving you permission to link to files directly on my site. We all know this is a no-no so I won't even bore you by going into more detail.

One last thing I'd like to mention is that I'm not a showcase. If you recolor my work, great - but I have no desire to feature it on my own site. I would rather concentrate on my own creating, rather than testing, fixing, uploading, creating screenshots etc. for other people's creations.

So with that said... happy recoloring.
